Thank you!

We are so grateful for the support we received at our "Give Us A Hand" fundraising luncheon last month. It was a full house at the Corner Loft — close to 100 people! Our third annual luncheon raised more than $10,000. WOW. We can't thank our friends and supporters enough. And a huge thanks to our sponsors — Rhonda and Michael Estes, the Corner Loft, SNAP! Printing, the Adult Work Center, Lawton Gallagher Group, Bay Bread Co. and Grand Traverse Pie Co. There's still time to donate online or by mail. Simply send a check made out to ACT-GT to 1101 Red Dr., Traverse City MI 49684. Thank you all for giving us a hand. ...

The Ability Exhibit

We are thrilled to be partners in bringing The Ability Exhibit to Traverse City. The exhibit will be at the Dennos Museum Center Oct. 18-20. Big thanks to The Dennos Museum Center, Northwestern Michigan College Disability Support Services and Disability Network for helping with this exhibit. This traveling exhibit, developed by grad students at Saint Louis University, features 10 interactive stations designed to build awareness of people with disabilities and the disability movement. There's also specialized training designed to educate teachers, staff and students on how they can be allies for disability inclusion.   As part of ACT-GT's sponsorship of this important exhibit, we'll be hosting a FREE Funday Sunday at the Dennos Oct. 18, 1-4 p.m. You can tour The Ability Exhibit, the museum's Discovery Gallery and any of the other exhibits absolutely free. Then join us, along with artist Kat Brown, for art activities. It's all part of the free Funday Sunday Oct. 18. We'll also be hosting a leadership lunch and...
